Governor Walker hopes the deal with Green Bay Packaging to build a new mill on that city’s north side will encourage Kimberly-Clark to keep two of its operations open in the Fox Cities.
Kimberly-Clark is proposing to shut down its Cold Spring plant in Fox Crossing and its Neenah Nonwovens facility. About 600 people would lose their jobs.
Walker was a guest on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY this morning. He says they still have the offer on the table to give Kimberly-Clark the same tax incentives as Foxconn. He says it’s a core industry and they want to preserve those jobs.
Green Bay Packaging plans to spend $500 million to replace the company’s 71-year-old mill.
