The Green Bay Police Department is setting up a task force to address the surge in shootings and gun violence across the city.
Chief Andrew Smith says four patrol officers and two detectives will be assigned to specifically work on shooting incidents.
Smith says most of the shootings are between people who know each other. He calls most of the arguments ridiculous, people mad at each other because someone is dating someone else’s girlfriend or ex-girlfriend. He says most of the incidents don’t involve a big drug dispute or gang turf war.
