There were three murder-suicides in the Fox Cities in 2018 and an advocate for domestic abuse victims is reacting to the deaths.
Beth Schnorr is the executive director of Harbor House. She says it’s been a horrendous year for survivors of domestic abuse to see it happening around them. She says it’s also devastating for the families of those lost to domestic violence.
40-year-old Sara Schmidt was killed by her estranged husband, 49-year-old Robert, in Harrison in January.
In May, 27-year-old Ashley Mielke was murdered by her boyfriend 38-year-old Jeremy Wallenfang in Clayton.
In July, 38-year-old Lauri Colon was shot to death by her estranged husband, 42-year-old Gregory, in Kimberly.
Schnorr says going back to September of last year four women have been killed locally.
58-year-old Johnny Scott of Appleton is charged with murdering his girlfriend, 48-year-old Annie Ford, on the city’s south side.
