The leaders of Green Bay and Brown County are working on a plan to move coal piles along the Fox River, and redevelop the land.
Mayor Eric Genrich and County Executive Troy Streckenbach want to put the piles on the former Pulliam Power Plant site at the mouth of the Fox River.
Genrich believes they could have a mixed-used development with businesses, housing, and parkland on the riverfront property.
Rep. David Steffen of Howard is asking state lawmakers to put $1.5 million in the state budget to pay for moving the piles.
