After hours of debate Green Bay has a budget for 2020.
It passed 7-5.
The budget includes a three-point-two percent increase and taxpayers could see an increase in storm sewer rates on their water bill.
Alderwoman Barbara Dorff says more than $4 million dollars was cut from the Mayor’s original budget proposal before it was sent to committee.
Some of the burden has been passed on to taxpayers this year because of previous budgets using one-time spending options to offset expenses.
The council voted to keep a diversity coordinator position in the budget.
It’s something the Mayor had been vocal about adding but some council members thought money could be better used elsewhere.
