Masters in May Wisconsin State BBQ Championship

Members of the Barbeque Club of the Fox Valley are conducting a state championship barbeque contest on May 3rd and 4th!


- 48 teams from 5 states in the upper Midwest will be cooking championship BBQ in 4 food categories: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork Shoulder and Beef Brisket; Many of the cooks will also display their skills in an optional dessert contest.

- Entrants have a wide variety of experience ranging from national championship teams to back yard BBQers wishing to try their skills against the best.

- $7500 in prize money is at stake -- The Grand champion is guaranteed eligibility to compete in the American Royale International contest held in Kansas City as well as eligibility in a drawing pool for the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Cook-Off in Lynchburg, Tennessee; Winners also accrue world championship points.

- The public is welcome to attend! Aspiring BBQ cooks and fans will have an opportunity to see some of the world’s greatest teams in action Saturday morning. They’ll cook with wood, charcoal or wood pellets on equipment ranging from back-yard types to the extravagant. There’s even a candy-apple red VW Bug with two smokers built in! Trailer mounted rigs with team names and logos abound. Ample BBQ samples will be available to the public Saturday afternoon after judging.
