Peralta Impressive, but Cards Double Up Crew 4-2
Wily Peralta and Shelby Miller went toe-to-toe in a pitcher's duel on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium, but in the end the Cardinals were able to muster more offense and beat the Brewers 4-2. Peralta went five hinnings without allowing a hit before Matt Holliday belted a two-run home run in the sixth. Peralta allowed just one more hit on the evening as he worked 6.2 innings allowing three runs while walking four and fanning seven. Miller was just as tough on the Brewers bats throwing 6.2 scoreless innings. Logan Schaefer drove in the Brewers only runs in the ninth with a two-run pinch hit home run. The clubs do battle again on Wednesday night with pre-game beginning at 6:40 p.m. and first pitch slated for 7:15 on 1150 WHBY.
