Fox Cities Reads chooses book about bullying

Libraries across the Fox Cities have several copies of the latest book to be featured in the Fox Cities Reads event.

Brian Kopetsky of the Appleton public library says this year's choice is "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio.

He says the book is written for middle school students, but it has mass appeal. It's about the struggles a boy with facial deformities faces at school.

Kopetsky says students from several schools will compete in a contest to write an extra chapter to the book. He says the author will also be at the Fox Cities Book Festival in April.

"Wonder" hit the shelves, at local libraries, late this morning.
