Foster care pilot starts in state

There's a new pilot program for foster children in southeast Wisconsin, and if it's successful, it could expand to our area.

The Care 4 Kids program connects kids with a team of doctors, mental health experts, and dentists, all under one roof.

Melissa Blom is the division manager for Outagamie County's department of children, youth, and families. She says they make every effort to see that children are getting basic medical care, but the new program would help here.

Blom says right now, foster kids in Outagamie County have immediate access to care, and a social worker meets with the foster and biological parents to make sure they're using it.
