LU loaning building to refugee effort

Organizers of a relocation effort for about 75 refugees will be able to use a former bank building in downtown Appleton to collect donations.

Lawrence University bought the building in the 300 block of E. College Avenue last month.

Jake Woodford is the assistant to Lawrence president Mark Burstein. He says the school will World Relief Fox Valley use the nearly 11,000 square foot building, for about six months.

The Fox Cities Kiwanis Club is holding donation drives for apartment furniture on February 22, March 1, and March 4 at the former bank building.
