Accused Luna shooter to stand trial

A Neenah man will face a trial for a shooting at a downtown Appleton nightclub.

Prosecutors charged 28-year-old Chong Lee with the murder of a Green Bay man, and an Outagamie County judge ruled that there is enough evidence to hold a trial in the case.

Appleton police detective Neal Rabas testified this morning, during a preliminary hearing, that two of Lee's friends told investigators that Lee was the shooter.

Twenty-five-year-old Joshua Richards was shot following a short argument, near the entrance to Luna Lounge.

Rabas said Lee made phone calls and sent letters from jail, telling people that the two friends can't testify in the case. Rabas said Lee mentioned that they need to disappear....and that they agreed to serve jail time for refusing to take the stand. He said Lee didn't admit to the shooting in any of the calls or letters.
