Wardens monitoring ice shanty removal

There are still a handful of ice shanties left on Lake Winnebago, after last weekend's deadline to remove them.

The DNR is working with their owners, to get them off the ice as soon as possible. Warden April Dombrowski says they aren't fining people, as long as they're making progress.

She says they hope to have all of the shanties off the ice by next weekend. The DNR's fine is around $200.

Sunday's shanty removal deadline applied to lakes south of Highway 64. They can stay on lakes north of the highway, until March 16th.
