Large payout ordered in travel scam

A travel company that had an office in Appleton will have to pay more than $4.5 million, as part of a lawsuit.

Travel Services of Litchfield, Illinois ran a travel club business. The state sued, accusing the company, and a marketer, of using deceptive practices, and breaking consumer protection laws.

An Outagamie County judge issued the order this week.
