Allegiant's Vegas flights from Appleton grow

More people are flying to Las Vegas from the Appleton Airport.

Airport director Abe Weber says Allegiant Air even had to use a larger plane, at least once this year, to handle more passengers. He says they really only see 757s come to the airport, when opponents of the Green Bay Packers use them. The plan can carry about 220 passengers.

Through April, Allegiant's passenger numbers are up 2-1/2 percent this year. They jumped almost 16 percent, in April alone, compared to the year before. Those totals also include Allegiant flights to Orlando and Phoenix.
