Lt. has close calls with suspected drunk drivers

A Town of Menasha police officer had a couple of close calls with suspected drunk drivers on Saturday night.

Officer Jason Weber says a 54-year-old Menasha man made a wide right turn, at the corner of Racine and 9th streets, and almost hit a lieutenant's car. He says the man was arrested for his eighth offense.

Weber says the other near miss happened, after the lieutenant got done with work. He says a driver ran a stop sign at the corner of Larsen Road and Clayton Avenue, in the town of Neenah. He says the officer followed the driver and called dispatchers.

The man was arrested by Neenah police for his third offense.
