Some same-sex couples planned to marry today

Twenty-seven same-sex couples from Outagamie County were expecting to pick up their marriage licenses this morning, but a judge's ruling last Friday put those marriages on hold.

Sam Tassoul planned on getting married today to her partner Sara Rabbideau, and she says they're disappointed that they can't do that now. She says luckily, they won't lose any deposits for flowers, and a photographer.

She says they will take a trip to Minneapolis, to tie the knot.

Tassoul says she's disappointed that Outagamie County Clerk Lori O-Bright wouldn't waive the five-day waiting period for marriage licenses, even though a judge was expected to put same-sex marriages, on hold, pending the state's appeal.
