Foremost Dairy project takes step forward

Plans for a development along the Fox River in Appleton are progressing.

The city council agreed to a deal with Vetter Denk for the former Foremost Dairy site, last night. The firm wants to build about 90 apartments there.

Community development director Karen Harkness says the project would be valued at around $7.2 million.

There's still more work to do, before construction could begin. Vetter Denk has to put together specific site plans, and the city council will need to sign off on them.

Harkness says the city bought the land three years ago, and the developer will pay $850,000 for the property.
