De Pere school closes unexpectedly

Officials from a private school in De Pere aren't answering many questions, about its abrupt closure.

Parents and staff at the Wisconsin International School received a letter yesterday afternoon, saying the school is closing, after six years in business.

In the letter, officials say they're saddened by the move, and the school's legal and accounting teams are trying to find the best way to finalize the closure.

The school offered preschool through eighth grade classes, and the letter says more than 800 students went there, since 2008.

The letter didn't give any reason for the closure, and nobody was available for comment at the school. Officials say they'll give more information as soon as possible.
