Southern Wis. hit by possible tornadoes

State and local officials are assessing the damage from potential tornadoes in southern Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service is confirming that at least one twister touched down in Iowa County.

Tod Pritchard is a spokesman for Wisconsin emergency management, and he says the worst storms were west of Madison. He says there were reports of possible tornadoes near Dodgeville, Highland, Spring Green, and Mt. Horeb.

There are also reports of damaged homes, near Dodgeville, and hundreds of trees down in Iowa County. South of Madison, a house and barn had roof damage, and trees were down.

Pritchard says they haven't heard any reports of injuries from the storms.
