Police: Woman intentionally hit road worker

A Kimberly woman is accused of deliberately hitting a construction worker, in a work zone, by Kimberly high school.

Fox Valley Metro police chief Erik Misselt says 57-year-old Patricia Carlson ignored two Outagamie County workers, yesterday morning, while crews were laying asphalt. He says a woman was trying to block Carlson from driving across fresh asphalt, when Carlson bumped her, with her car, and drove through the area.

The worker has some bruises on her shin, but she was back at work today.

County Executive Tom Nelson says employees shouldn't fear for their safety, when they come to work.

Police are giving Carlson three tickets, including hit-and-run and reckless driving. She could face $1,163.80 in fines.
