Baldwin: Wall Street impacting gas prices

Even though oil production is up in the U.S., gas prices haven't gone down.

U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin believes Wall Street speculation in oil markets is a factor. The Madison Democrat says some economists agree that banks are having an impact.

Baldwin is backing a proposal that calls on a federal trading commission to limit that speculation.

Right now, gas prices are around $3.63 a gallon, in the Appleton area. They were about eight cents lower, a year ago.
