Wis. woman featured in CDC anti-smoking ad

A mother from Eau Claire is telling her story, in a new national anti-smoking ad, from the Centers for Disease Control.

Amanda Brenden says she was a 24-year-old college student, when she kept smoking, while she was pregnant. She says her daughter was born two months early, and she weighed three pounds. The now seven-year-old girl has asthma. Brendan says she hopes her "Tips from Former Smokers" ad gets the message across.

A UW-Milwaukee report shows 13 percent of pregnant women in Wisconsin continue to smoke. The national average is 10 percent.
