6 tornadoes hit Outagamie Co. 1 year ago

A storm that spawned six tornadoes started sweeping through parts of Outagamie County, one year ago, tonight, and forecasters say it was a very unusual weather system.

The tornadoes left paths of damage from New London through the Heart of the Valley, but the emergency sirens never sounded.

Meteorologist Jeff Last is the warning coordinator for the National Weather Service's Green Bay office. He says they didn't issue a tornado warning, because the heavy rain made it impossible to see the twisters from the ground. He says they couldn't see them on radar either, because of the storm's speed.

Another meteorologist at the weather service says he wouldn't be surprised if he never sees a similar storm, during the rest of his career.
