Bemis CEO optimistic for future

The new leader of the Bemis Company says he's optimistic for the company's future.

The Bemis board of directors promoted 55-year-old Bill Austen yesterday, from the chief operating officer position, to the CEO.

He says for the past four years, Bemis has been consolidating its operations, and now it's time to expand. He says the food packaging market is primed for growth, and companies look to move away from metal can and glass containers.


Austen succeeds Henry Theisen, who served as the Bemis CEO for the past eight years.
