Mile of Music called a success

The second year of the Mile of Music festival endedyesterday, and co-founder Dave Willems says it was another success.

He says they likely hit the 30,000 mark for attendance. That's double last year's crowds. He says the 600 shows by more than 200 singers or bands drew people from as far away as the Twin Cities and northern Illinois.

Willems says organizers will talk with the venue owners to see how things went, and how to improve in the future. He says they could expand the event, possibly adding a second weekend. Willems says that's something they have to be careful about.

Willems says great weather helped draw people to the four-day event.
