Rock Cancer set for Saturday

An event that raises money for local families, dealing with cancer, is coming up tomorrow in Little Chute.

This is the sixth year that the Spierings Cancer Foundation is holding the Rock Cancer festival. Founder, and cancer survivor Jim Spierings says they have five bands lined up, and a number of raffle prizes.

He says they hope to raise over $500,000. Spierings says 40 percent of the money goes directly to local families who are struggling financially because of cancer. Thirty percent helps buy supplies for local cancer centers. Spierings says 20 percent help fund cancer research at universities in the state.
