Task force takes on domestic violence

A survey of 500 domestic violence survivors and advocates helped a state task force put together a long-range plan for dealing with abuse.

Co-chair Sue Sippel says statistics show more than 700,000 women in Wisconsin will be beaten, stalked or raped by a current or former partner. She says that's more than the combined population of Green Bay and Milwaukee.

The task force released a six-year plan to end domestic violence in the state. There are six priorities, including educating young people, especially those who were raised in abusive homes.
