Financial aid available for Flex Option

Students in the UW-System's Flexible Option program will get the chance to apply for federal financial aid.

Administrators created the degree program, giving adults an opportunity to earn credits, using their real-life experiences.

System President Ray Cross says it's the first of its kind, in the country, to become eligible for federal financial aid. He says other states are watching the work of UW Colleges interim chancellor Aaron Brower.

The first students started going through the Flexible Option program in January.
