Consumer protection has Cyber Monday warning
That e-mail or text message in your inbox, advertising a great Cyber Monday special, could actually be an attempt to steal your money.
That's according to Sandy Chalmers with the state consumer protection department.
She says it's very easy for criminals to set up a fake website that looks exactly like it belongs to a well-known retailer. She says the thieves are trying to get credit card numbers.
Chalmers says those links could also download a virus to your computer or smart phone.
