Hwy. 10-441 interchange could be delayed

The DOT wants to hold off on the Highway 10-441 interchange project, at Highway 41, for another two years.

The agency's initial budget request to Governor Walker calls for the delay.

Rep. Dean Kaufert of Neenah says the Fox Cities has been waiting in line for too long, and the current interchange is negatively impacting economic development.

Kaufert says lawmakers will talk about ways to generate more money, for the state's transportation fund. He calls that debate a "600-pound guerilla."

The Highway 10-441 project calls for a second bridge over Little Lake Butte des Morts, and a series of improvements between Highway CB and Oneida Street.

The DOT's budget request would also delay the completion of the Zoo interchange project in the Milwaukee area, by two years.
