Hortonville official opposes Hwy. 15 delay
The Highway 15 project between Greenville and New London is among several that the DOT wants to delay by one year, because of spending constraints in the next state budget.
That includes a bypass of Hortonville, and village president Andrew Gitter says he's looking at the possible delay in a couple of ways. He says an extra year would give village officials more time to plan for the change, and that includes building bike trails, putting up new signs, and transitioning control of the existing road. But he says it would also put a kink in business expansion plans.
Gitter says the DOT has been planning the project for a while, and it's time to move forward.
