L.C. high school helping homeless shelter

Basketball fans at tonight's game between Little Chute and Ripon high schools have a chance to support a local homeless shelter.

Students from Little Chute's "Project Saving Grace" program are holding a candlelight vigil before the game, and they have posters showing how the Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley serves the local homeless population. Little Chute guidance counselor Kevin Pratt says at halftime, they'll hold a two-minute "dash for cash" to collect donations.

He says they hope to raise a thousand dollars. Jennifer Dieter of the Emergency Shelter says they started "Project Saving Grace" in 2004, to tell the story of a baby that was staying at the shelter.

She says Little Chute high school is a new member of the program.
