Tree farm participating in 'Trees For Troops' program

People who want to make Christmas a little merrier for military families can do their part this weekend, by donating a Christmas Tree.

Schroeder's Forevergreens is participating in the Trees for Troops program again this year.

Owner Tom Schroeder says people can buy, and donate a tree for $20.  He says the trees are then sent to the families of active duty military members at bases in the Great Lakes region, and Fort Leonardwood, Missouri.  Schroeder says he hopes people donate at least 100 trees from his lot.

Nationally, officials set a goal of collecting 17,000 trees.

People can stop by the Schroeder's Forevergreens lot at the corner of Lake and Main streets in Neenah to donate a tree.

They can also include a personal message to the family that gets the tree.
