Brown Co. deputy gets DUI arrest award
The family of a fallen Brown County sheriff's department sergeant is giving an award to the deputy who made the most drunk driving arrests in the last year.
Capt. Randy Schultz says Deputy Greg Gleason will receive the Truttmann Family DUI award, for arresting 49 suspected drunk drivers.
It's named after Sgt. Wayne Truttmann, who was killed during a traffic stop in 1973. His 19-year-old son was killed by a drunk driver in 1998.
Schultz says Brown County has 12 traffic fatalities so far this year, and six of them involved drunk drivers.
