Hostile takeover of Oshkosh Corp. fails

The leader of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce is breathing a sigh of relief, after an attempt to take over the Oshkosh Corp. failed.

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn says he's giving up, following what was his second push to take control of the business. He wasn't able to acquire 25 percent of the company's shares.

Chamber president John Casper says if Icahn was successful, he probably wouldn't move the company's manufacturing operation. But he says the corporate offices likely would've left.

Casper says he thought Icahn was through with the company after his first takeover bid failed. He remains cautious, even though Icahn says he's moving onto other projects.

The Oshkosh Corp. is thanking its shareholders for not going along with Icahn's plan.
