Council pres. still hopeful for SWAT deal
The city council president in Appleton wants to give the city and town of Grand Chute police departments more time to work out their issues over a SWAT team deal.
The city is proposing to end the one-year agreement, and Ald. Chris Croatt put a vote on hold for two weeks, during last night's city council meeting.
Croatt says he's optimistic something can get done, and he's hopeful people will come together to talk.
Citing philosophical differences, the city's safety and licensing committee voted unanimously last month to end the deal.
