Gov opposing voter registration, right-to-work changes
Governor Walker says he wouldn't sign a bill ending same-day voter registration, if it came to his desk.
The governor had a change of heart over eliminating same-day voter registration this week, after seeing a study by the Government Accountability Board, which showed that costs association with the change would add up to a price tag of around $5.2 million. Governor Walker says that's too much money.
Walker also reiterated his disinterest in pursuing a right-to-work law in Wisconsin.
He says it would be a huge distraction from his jobs agenda, and the uncertainty it would create would likely lead many employers in the state holding off on expansion plans.
Walker stopped short of saying he would refuse to sign a right-to-work bill if the Legislature passed one.
