BBB offers tips for returning gifts
Those less than perfect Christmas gifts are headed back to the stores today.
Kimberly Hazen of the Better Business Bureau office in Appleton says there are ways to make the return process less stressful. She says people should always check the store's return policy, before they buy.
Hazen says there aren't any laws that require stores to accept returns, but there are exceptions for items that are defective, or were sold deceptively. She says if you don't have a receipt, you'll get better results if you remain calm and respectful.
Hazen says you shouldn't remove tags, until you're sure you're going to keep the item, and always leave it in the original packaging.
