WDC: Change way justices picked
The state is facing another expensive Supreme Court election this spring, and the head of a government watchdog group says lawmakers should consider changing the selection process.
Mike McCabe of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign says he perfers a merit system, with an independent panel of legal experts making the pick.
McCabe says the past few state Supreme Court races turned into auctions, because of the large increases in special interest money.
