Baldwin sworn in as U.S. Senator

Wisconsin's new U.S. senator took office today.

Former Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin was sworn in today during a ceremony in Washington D.C. There are 11 other new members of the U.S Senate.

Baldwin is a Democrat from Madison, and she defeated former governor Tommy Thompson last November. She's the state's first female senator, and the first openly gay senator in the country.
