Watchdog group loses major donor
A government watchdog group is losing more than half of its funding, and it faces an uncertain future.
Wisconsin Democracy Campaign director Mike McCabe says the Joyce Foundation supported them for 16 years, and leaders didn't provide an explanation for dropping their funding. Of the group's $430,000 budget, about $230,000 of it came from the Joyce Foundation.
McCabe says they don't have any immediate cash-flow problems, but they may have to look at making cuts in the coming months.
The group maintains a database of all political donations in Wisconsin, if they're released publicly.
