90-yr-old man killed in on-ramp crash
Winnebago County authorities say an elderly man died in an accident this morning, at an on-ramp to Highway 41 North.
Sgt. Jeff Gruss of the sheriff's department says the 90-year-old driver lost control, and hit a median wall after exiting Highways 10-441 West, just before 7:30 p.m. He says there was an icy patch on the on-ramp.
Gruss says the car rolled, after it hit the wall, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He says an 86-year-old woman was riding in the car, and she was taken to Theda Clark Medical Center, with non life-threatening injuries.
