Baldwin weighs in on gun debate
The 2nd amendment debate will really heat up today, when Vice
President Joe Biden releases his proposal to increase some gun controls.
U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin says it's a conversation the country needs to have. The Madison Democrat says she's a strong supporter of the right to bear arms, but she wants to see some changes.
Baldwin says background checks should cover all gun sales, and right now there's a loophole for gun shows and some other private sales. She says officials also need to do more to help mentally ill people with violent tendencies.
Baldwin says any proposal needs to balance 2nd amendment rights with public safety.
