Appleton buying recycling carts
People in Appleton will start getting their new
recycling carts sometime this spring.
The city is implementing a new automated collection system, and the city council approved a $1.2 million deal last night to buy more than 25,000 carts.
Public works director Paula Vandehey says they're all coming in the 96-gallon size. She says some cities that initially bought smaller sizes are going to the bigger ones now.
Vandehey says they hope to deliver all of the carts by mid-April. She says they'll come with a packet that will explain the new system.
