Soccer tournament returning to Fox Cities
The Fox Cities will again play host to the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championship.
The organization held the event here in 2006 and 2011, and today officials announced that it's coming back in June of 2015. Nanci Micke is a volunteer spokeswoman for the group. She says it's an excellent opportunity for the Fox Cities, because it will bring 14,000 people here from 13 states.
The event draws 214 teams, and the games will be played in the Appleton and Green Bay areas.
The tournament is expected to have an economic impact of more than $6.5 million.
