Man breaks through ice, drowns in Lake Winnebago
A 42-year-old Sherwood man drowned Saturday, after
going through the ice on Lake Winnebago.
The Calumet County sheriff's department says he was on an ATV, near the High Cliff State Park marina, around 1:45 p.m. Authorities say someone else was in front of him, but that person made it across some open water.
The county's dive team pulled the man out of the water, about an hour later, and he was flown by helicopter to Theda Clark Medical Center. He died at the hospital.
