City may hire consultant for facilities
The city of Appleton might turn to a consultant to look at different possibilities for its properties in the downtown.
Facilities and construction management director Dean Gazza says Washington Place is coming down this year, and the city is still considering the future of the library. He says they'll also have to make a decision on the City Center ramp in the next decade, and they have some flexibility with City Hall.
Gazza says they want to see three options. He says if the city just addressed each facility separately, officials might miss out on some opportunities.
The proposal will go to the city council.
