Hansen reacts to decline in unions
A Green Bay Democrat says the nationwide decline
in union membership was predictable.
Sen. Dave Hansen says what happened to public workers in Wisconsin two years ago is just one of many recent attacks on organized labor. He says it's certainly not good for workers, even if they're not represented.
Hansen says many benefits, like the 40-hour work week, vacations, sick leave, and other benefits came from battles that the unions fought.
A report shows the percentage of the U.S. workforce in organized labor is at an eight-year low, at 11.3 percent.
