AAA: Drivers on cell phones take other risks
If you talk on the phone while you drive, you probably also speed regularly, drive drowsy, and send text messages while you're behind the wheel. That's the finding of a study by AAA.
Roy Hinz is a spokesman for the auto club, and he says it makes sense, because if a person is prone to taking risks in one area, they're likely to do the same, in others. He says the opposite is true for people who stay off the phone while they drive.
Hinz says the study showed that 98 percent of people consider distracted driving a problem, but 69 percent of them also admitted to using their cell phone while they drive.
