Warden returns hunting gear to Appleton man
A hunter from Appleton lucked out, when an apparent Good Samaritan found some expensive hunting gear on a highway late last year.
DNR warden Mike Young says he saw someone had pulled over, near Highways 76 and M, in Outagamie County. He says the man was picking up equipment, including clothing and a tree stand, after seeing the items fall out of the back of a truck.
Young says he was able to track down the owner, using a back tag, because the owner wrote down a phone number, when he bought it. He says the hunter was surprised to get a call. He says the hunter was planning on back-tracking, but he figured he had lost everything.
